James David Allshouse Obituary
Allshouse Colonel James David Allshouse, age 62, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017. He was born November 25, 1954 to the late Anne and Charles E. Allshouse. Jim was commissioned through the AFROTC program at The Ohio State University in 1976, and received a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy, Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF), Ft McNair, Washington D.C. in 1997. He served as a weapons systems operator and an electronic warfare (EW) officer in the F-4E and F-4G and as an instructor, weapons instructor, and standardization/evaluation flight examiner. His career culminated as the Commander for the AFROTC at the University of Virginia. He was a senior navigator with over 2200 hours of fighter experience. His major awards included the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and Air Medal. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Jim joined Battelle in 2003 and served as a Program Manager within the Battelle Special Programs Market Sector. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Dr. Milisa Rizer; daughter, Kaylin; brother, Richard (Julie) Allshouse; and many other extended family members and dear friends, including his beloved dog, Olivia. A funeral service for Jim will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017 at Northwest United Methodist Church, located at 5200 Riverside Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43220, where family will immediately receive friends following the service until 7 p.m. Private interment at Letart Falls Cemetery in Racine, Ohio will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested any expressions of sympathy or regret be made as gifts in support of The Ohio State University Air Force ROTC Detachment.
