Turgeon James Patrick Turgeon, age 88, passed away December 12, 2014 with his family at his bedside. He was a resident of Edgewater Assisted Living, Plain City, Ohio. James was born September 7, 1926 in Manhattan, New York. After growing up in a New York City orphanage, he did not take love for granted. James was a WWII veteran where he received his Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Metal, American Theatre Medal and Philippine Liberation Medal. He retired from City of Columbus Water Department. James is preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Jean Turgeon, daughter Sharon Lynn Turgeon. James is survived by son, Robert (Martha) Turgeon; daughter, Pamela (Homer) Preece; grandchildren, Kimberly Preece, Patrick (Natasha) Preece, Michelle (Luke) Egan, James Turgeon II; great grandchildren, Patrick, Grace, Nicholas, Jakob, Raylea, Gabriella, Grady, Delaney. Memorial service will be Friday, December 19, 2014, 1 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 670 W. Main St., Plain City, Ohio 43064. The family would like to thank Dr. Adams, Edgewater Staff and Heartland Hospice. Pam & family, I am so sorry to hear of your precious dad's passing. I wish I could come to the viewing and funeral, but I have out of town family coming in on Thursday evening.
