Mondlak James Thomas Mondlak, age 78, of Reynoldsburg, passed away at home on July 21, 2015, after a 20-day battle with metastatic melanoma. Jim was born January 24, 1937 to the late Charles and Lola Mondlak in Bellaire, Oh. He was a Bellaire H.S. graduate, class of '54. Jim served in the U.S. Army and retired from Ameritech in 1991, after more than 37 years of service. He was a member of the Reynoldsburg UMC, the Shadyside American Legion Post 0521, and the Telephone Pioneers. He was loving husband, father, proud grandfather and adored his daughter-in-law. Jim leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Phyllis J. (Lawrence) Mondlak; his sons, Michael Mondlak, Matthew (Laurie) Mondlak; grandchildren, Zack, Alex, and Kyle Mondlak; sister-in-law, Mary Margaret Lawrence; several nieces and nephews; and life-long friend, Nick Trolley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Frank Mondlak and sister Charlotte Fitch. Internment in Silent Home Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, later in the month. The family would like to especially thank, OhioHealth Hospice, for their help and also thank, Bob and Sandy Strine, Don and Ann Cole, and breakfast buddies, Lee Mather and Arthur Shock, for their compassion and friendship.
