Ward elected to donate his brain and body to Arizona's Parkinson's Disease Center, Banner Sun Health Research Center. Ward is survived by his wife, Helen Quenemoen Woodruff; son, J. Douglas Woodruff (wife, Holly); daughter, Mary J. Woodruff Ziegler (husband, Steve); and son, Michael A. Woodruff (wife, Edith Kang). Ward's two surviving brothers are William L.
