Janie (Weasel) Haas, 70, of Worthington, passed away at home on November 25, surrounded by her loving family after a 3 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on December 24, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio, daughter of the late George and Lucille Kistner Weasel. Also preceded in death by her sister Cindy Murrish. Janie graduated from McClure High School in 1964 and received her RN degree from Riverside/White Cross Hospital in 1968. She wed Gordon Haas on August 24, 1968, and throughout their nearly 50 years together they lived in Toledo, Ohio, Saudi Arabia, and finally Worthington. Janie excelled at everything she did, notably nursing, needlepoint, entertaining, and most of all, being a mother and grandmother. Survived by her husband, Gordon; daughters, Jenell Haas and Jill (Chris) Brandt; beloved grandchildren, Tucker, Lucy, Jack, and Molly. Also left to cherish her memory are sisters, Pam (Harold) Weimer and Christy (Thom) Iannarino; brothers, Jeff (Jane) and Joe (Mary) Weasel; numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends across the world. Calling hours will be from 5-7pm on Thursday, November 30, at Schoedinger's Worthington Chapel, 6699 North High Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Janie's name at www.youcaring.com/janiehaas; proceeds will go to the OSU Ross Heart Hospital where she worked for 10 years until her recent retirement.
