Finger, Jean
Jean Finger, age 90, of Sunbury and formerly of Columbus, and Youngstown, died Friday morning, July 28, 2017 at the Villages at Westerville. She was born on October 25, 1926 in Youngstown, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Lindsay) Domhoff. On July 28, 1962, she married William Finger. They were married for 34 years before his passing on October 18, 1996. Jean was the head cashier for Sears Roebuck at their store in downtown Youngstown and later the Southern Park Mall for 40 years. After retirement, she worked for Michael's Arts and Crafts in Columbus for 15 years, retiring a second time at the age of 88. She was very active at Northside Fellowship Presbyterian Church in Westerville where she helped out wherever needed. Before moving to Sunbury from Columbus she was a member of Linworth Baptist. Jean loved to crochet and made baby blankets for the church preschool and Pregnancy Resources of Delaware County. Baby's all over Delaware County had blankets made by Jean. In her younger years she loved roller skating. She will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Scott Pears of Sunbury; grandchildren, Lindsay Pears, Jared Pears, Rachelle Vittorio, and Dan Vittorio. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings William, Charles, Margretta, and Edna. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 6 PM at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 637 North State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Friends may call on the family from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Private graveside services will take place to Northlawn Memory Gardens in Westerville.
