Jeanette E. Houser Obituary
Houser Jeanette E. Houser, much-loved Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. She was born on May 14, 1930. All who knew Jeanette know that her family was her pride and joy. Preceded in death by her husband and best friend, Earl Houser (m November 13, 1948), she is survived by daughters, Renee Houser (Bill Shkurti), Barb Houser (Stephen Marine) and Teri McKay (Stephen McKay). She will also be greatly missed by grandchildren, Marta Marine (Nick Borchert) and Frankie Marine (Josh Jones), Erin McKay and Devin McKay, Thomas Shkurti; and great- granddaughter, Edie Rose Borchert. Family will cherish memories of holidays spent at Grandma's house. Jeanette found great satisfaction and enjoyment in her beautiful home, her picture-perfect gardens and her very-pampered pets. Prior to retirement, she touched many lives in her role as cafeteria manager for Worthington High School, where her considerable cooking skills served her well. One of seven children of Marshall and Ethel Hetsler, Jeanette grew up in Ashland, OH. Later she and Earl, who had a long career in law enforcement, made their home in Delaware, OH and then Columbus, OH. Although separated by miles, Jeanette continued to show interest in and concern for her siblings. Those left to mourn her passing are Duane (Donna) Hetsler, Carol (Larry) McFadden and Jerry (Cathy) Hetsler. A wonderful example of independence, strength, humor and love, Jeanette will be missed by many, even as she remains a guiding light in our lives.
