Jesse McGowan Obituary

MCGOWAN Jesse McGowan, age 90, born April 3, 1922 in Rose Hill, MS, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at his home. Retired from Union Local 423 after 48 years. Preceded in death by parents Milton and Celie McGowan, wife Mentoria, son Elbert, brothers, K.D., Walter, Nemiah, and Leroy, and sisters Dessie Ree and Hanna Mae. Survived by four children, Vincent (Peggy), Linda, Bruce, and Rodney (Robin); brother, Milton; 13 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, including special cousin Floyd Tatum, other relatives and friends, including special friend Miss Joyce. Celebration of Life 10 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 in the chapel of DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E. Long Street, where the family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the start of service. Interment Green Lawn Cemetery.
