BARLOW Jim Barlow, 73, of Rockbridge, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on November 28, 1936 in Columbus to the late Buckley and Helen (Waishnora) Barlow. Jim graduated from Aquinas College High School in 1954, following which he worked 20 years for the Columbus Fire Department Electrical Line Crew and later retired from the City of Columbus as an Electrical Inspector. He formed his own business and provided electrical inspections for the cities of Bexley, Whitehall and Hilliard. An avid outdoorsman, he was a member of the National Rifle Association, National Trappers Association and Ohio Trappers Association. As a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Grove, Ohio, he served on Parish Council for many years. He is survived by wife, Glenda (Gilbert) Barlow; daughter, Betsy (Greg) Isett; sons, James Thomas Barlow and Donald Colby (Melane) Barlow; grandchildren, Zac, Alex, Colby, Aaron, Benjamin and Hannah; brothers, Patrick (Barbara) Barlow and Tommy (Charlene) Barlow; sister, Mary Clouse. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother Buckley. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 308 N. Elm St., Sugar Grove, Ohio with Fr. James A. Walter as Celebrant and Msgr. James A. Geiger as Concelebrant. Luncheon to follow Mass provided by the Lazarus Committee of St. Joseph Church then followed by burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. in Columbus. Family will receive friends on Sunday, August 1 from 5-8 p.m. at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME, 222 S. Columbus St., Lancaster, Ohio 43130, where a vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pickering House, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio in Jim's memory.
