Joan "Jo" F. Hatten, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Worthington Christian Village. She was born March 27, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Clarence and Frances (Viall) Friebis-Kerr. Jo was a 1944 graduate of West High School where she was the homecoming queen. She enjoyed meeting monthly for lunch with her West High School classmates. Jo was a longtime member of First Community Church. She was a member of the Swiss Club, the Damenchor Women's Chorus and active in the Elk Lodge #2700 for many years. Most importantly, Jo was a loving mother and doting grandmother who will be missed by her family and friends. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Howard "Shorty" Hatten and siblings William, Ned Kerr and Ruth Morgan. She is survived by sons, David (Julie) Crouch, Michael (Renee) Montgomery and Daniel Montgomery; step-daughters; Lisa (Jim) Treboni, Tina (David) Van Meter; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Memorial donations may be made to Ohio Health Hospice, 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
