Joanne Adair Saikas (Stimpfle), passed away February 24, 2018. She was born to Marguerite (McGill) Stimpfle and Charles Stimpfle on March 7, 1932. Survived by daughters, Cheryl (Doug) Mount of Westerville and Debbie (Mike) Knapp of Sunbury; pre-deceased by husband, Charles Saikas Sr.; and son, Charles Saikas Jr. Also survived by sister, Jeanne Pfaltzgraf; brothers-in-law, Stu Root, Jerry Root and Phil Porter. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Joanne was born and raised in Columbus, OH. She went to South High School and loved to play softball, basketball, bowling and was even on the Queen's Court. She married her high school sweetheart Chuck Saikas on July 20, 1951 and for the next 4 years was a Navy wife living in Jacksonville, FL and Millington, TN. After the Navy they settled in Columbus, OH where they raised 3 children, Cheryl, Debbie and Chuck Jr. Joanne worked for Timkens, was a bookkeeper at OH National Bank, worked in the payroll department at North American Rockwell and Accounts Payable Supervisor at Schottenstein's Dept Store. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 3426 at Lockbourne and Frebis, Jobe's Daughters, Girl Scout Leader for several years, member of the United Church of Christ and was confirmed at St John's Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ on Mount St. After raising their family Joanne and Chuck retired to Milledgeville, GA for 11 years and then to Pompano Beach, FL, splitting their time between FL and Powell, OH. May the Lord bless you and keep you in the palm of his hands forever. Her family will receive friends from 4-7pm Wednesday at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington (1/2 mile south of I-270). The Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon Thursday, March 1, 2018, where friends will be received from 11am to the time of service. Interment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (NPCF), P.O.
