John J. Adams Obituary
Adams John J. Adams, age 85, of Columbus, Ohio, died May 26, 2017. He was the eldest son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Kozumplik) Adams of Hicksville, Ohio. John is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Ann (Ubbing) Adams of Columbus; his four sons and their spouses, Michael (and Mie), Mark (and Stephanie), Luke (and Christine), and John (and Donette); and nine grandchildren whom he all dearly loved. Born in Ney, OH, John graduated from Hicksville High School in 1949. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and received a civil engineering degree from Tri-State College. Most of his career was with the Ohio Department of Transportation in Columbus working as a civil engineer. John is survived by five brothers, Victor and Joseph of Hicksville, Ohio, Paul of Antwerp, Ohio, and Benjamin and Carl in Nokomis, Florida. His sisters are Helen Keane of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania and Mary Ann Brinegar of Greenfield, Indiana. In addition to his parents, three siblings Ruth Herman of Edgerton, Ludmila Keating of Antwerp and Richard L. Adams, predeceased him. Family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, June 15 at St. Elizabeth Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio 43229. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Elizabeth's at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, where family will also receive friends an hour prior to mass. Graveside services with military honors will be held in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hicksville, Ohio on Saturday, June 17 at 11 a.m., with the assistance of the Brown Funeral Home and St. Michael's Catholic Church of Hicksville. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeth St. Vincent de Paul Conference, to the B.R.E.A.D.
