Comer John Jacob Comer, of Sunbury, OH, left his earthly life on March 28, 2017, to join his Savior in Heaven. Born in Stockdale, Ohio, on July 18, 1941, to Theodore and Margaret (Wiget) Comer. Preceded in death by father, mother, and brother Harold. He will be lovingly missed by his devoted wife of 36 years, Shirley; stepson, Scott (Brenda) Thomas; stepdaughter, Nancy (Mike) Hutchison; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by sister, Frances of Piketon, OH. John was an avid bowler and angler, and enjoyed participating in both with Shirley, especially fishing on their pontoon boat at the Hoover Reservoir. John was employed by the Industrial Sales Division of General Electric for 25 years. He was a wonderful husband and stepfather, who particularly enjoyed spending time with family and his "baby," Dusty, who will also miss him terribly. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, at the Genoa Baptist Church, SR 3 and Lewis Center Road, Sunbury, OH, followed by brunch and fellowship.
