Beekman Jonathan "Lane" Beekman, age 50, of West Jefferson, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 19, 2014 in his residence. He was born May 14, 1964 in London. Lane never knew a stranger; he spoke and trusted everyone. He loved watching sports and was an avid Buckeye Fan. Lane was employed by MATCO Industries, was a field and track team member on the Madison County Tigers Team and was getting ready for the Special Olympics next weekend and a new member of the Cypress Wesleyan Church. Survivors include: mother, Alice (Glenn) Lipps; father, John Beekman; sister and brother-in-law, Johnda and Bill Beathard; nephew, Zane (Alicia) Beathard; nieces, Ashley (Tim) Winebrenner, Erica Beathard (Brandon Laugesen); great nephew, Zaviar Beathard; great nieces, Natalie, Hailey and Bentley Winebrenner; aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and friends. Lane was preceded in death by his wife Marlene Beekman (1995) and grandparents. Family will receive friends 3-7 p.m. Sunday in The RADER-McDONALD FUNERAL HOME, West Jefferson, where Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Rick Rucker officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lane's honor to the Madison County Special Olympics, 500 Elm St., London, Ohio 43140.
