Obituary Condolences

Fusco Joseph W. Fusco died June 9, 2017, at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was 68 years old. Joe leaves his wife of 38 years, Tam Dalrymple; their two sons, Peter Fusco and AJ Fusco; sister-in-law, Judy Michaelson; and many dear friends and family members. He was born in Columbus and lived most of his life in Clintonville and Grandview Heights. He attended The Ohio State University, graduating in 1970 as its first Italian language major. He served in The United States Army and Army Reserve from his time in the ROTC until his honorable discharge at the rank of Captain in 1982. He met his wife while both were working at the Columbus Metropolitan Library, a year after they had first crossed paths at the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo in Siena. He also served on the police force of The Ohio State University, and much of his career was spent as a stay-at-home dad, at which he was terrific. He was a fantastic cook, was passionate about learning foreign languages, and will be remembered as a ruthless flesh-eating zombie whose sole weakness was Beethoven's "Für Elise" as played on a Playmobil piano. He was preceded in death by George "The Animal" Steele, as well as pretty much everybody else who has ever lived. Joe was a volunteer at Kobacker House and donations in his memory can be made at https://foundation.ohiohealth.com/kobacker/hospice-giving Details of a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
