Sparks Kenneth L. Sparks, age 85, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Laurels of Norworth. Ken was retired from Grant Hospital were he was employed as Material Manager, and he was World War II, U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. He was preceded in death by wife Dale, son Steven, parents Dewey and Hazel (Arthur) Sparks, sister June Johnson, and brother Dewey Sparks Jr. His survivors include his son, Jeff (Nikki) Sparks; grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Manners, Kimberly (Ben) Baillieul, and Jason Carvey; great-grandchildren, Joel and Leah Manners. Ken was a 55 year member of New England Lodge #4, F.&A.M., where he served as Worshipful Master in 1966 and 2000. He also was a member of Horace W. Wright #226 R.A.M., York Council #115 R. & S.M., Mt Vernon Commandery #1, the 32 Degree Masons, Valley of Columbus, A.A.S.R., where he received the Meritorious Service Award; Aladdin Shriners, and the Past Masters Unit of Aladdin Shrine, Worthington Chapter #287 O.E.S., and Leasure Blackston Post #239 American Legion. In keeping with Ken's wishes, New England Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic Funeral Service, which is open the public, 8 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until service time.
