
BEERY L. Merl Beery, after bravely fighting pancreatic cancer, has gone home. Merl was surrounded by his loved ones. He was 62. "Chef Merl", at Bob Evans Farms for over 30 years, was responsible for product development, technical services, quality assurance and purchasing for the company's restaurants. Merl was active in several professional and community organizations, including the Ohio 4-H Foundation, OSU Food Industry Council and the State of Ohio Food Service Advisory Board. He was a BuckeyeFirst, Last and Only. He graduated in 1969. He originally was from Logan, Oh. where he was a member of the Logan High School Alumni Hall of Fame. He had been an All-State football player there. Merl loved hunting, fishing, golf and everything Ohio State! He loved being with his buddies, his friends at Bob Evans and his family who loved him so very much. Merl is survived by his wife, Lois; his son, Kevin, and wife Mindy, their two children (Merl's pride and joy) Travis and Emma; his daughter, Kimberly; his twin brother, Earl and his wife Susan; mother-in-law, Mildred Lanning; brother-in-law, Jim Lanning and wife Barbara; also many loving nieces and nephew and great- nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Roy, mother Helen, father-in-law Bill and special grandson Connor.
