L. Randy Sprouse Obituary
Sprouse L. Randy Sprouse entered the gates of Heaven on June 2, 2017. Randy loved life and, since March 2016, loved living in The Villages, Florida, with his cherished wife Denise Carol Sprouse. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Larry Sprouse of Columbus, Ohio; two nephews, Jason (Celena) Sprouse and Joshua (Christine) Sprouse; one great-niece, Piper Sprouse; one daughter; treasured friends, Rick and Rita Kirk, Paul and Jayne McKnight, and Rodger and Rebecca Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie J. Sprouse and Lavonda (Dee) Sprouse and sister-in-law Vickie Sprouse. Randy was a native of Columbus, Ohio, born July 20, 1951 and graduated from Mifflin High School in 1969. He retired six years ago from Eagle Equipment in Westerville, Ohio, where he had worked for two decades. A loyal son and son-in-law, he was always true to his word. Randy was known for being passionate about helping family, friends and neighbors, and for being an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan! He attended Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Westerville, Ohio, and Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, Florida. During his lifetime, he was a member of the Ohio National Guard and had great respect for the flag and the men and women serving in uniform. Active in his community, he served as trustee and vice-president of the Sharon Woods Civic Association in Columbus. He was especially proud of leading the campaign to provide street lighting in the area, coordinating the children's yearly Easter Egg Hunt, and driving the Liberty Bell float in the annual July 4th Northland Area Community Parade. Arrangements have been entrusted in SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road in Columbus, Ohio, with calling hours scheduled from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Friday June 9th, 2017. Officiated by Pastor Richard Walston. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sharon Woods Civic Association, P.O. Box 297974, Columbus, Ohio 43229. Online condolences may be made at www.schoedinger.com.
