Absten Lee D. Absten, 84 , was reunited with his heavenly family on Saturday, May 6, 2017. He was born on June 23, 1932 the son of the late Landis and Goldie (Warner) Absten of Leon, West Virginia. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Isabell; and his children, Glenda (Greg) Williams, Michael (Sue) Absten, Lisa (Bill) Fitzpatrick, Teresa (Mike) Smith, and Mary Lou (Will) Maynard; sister, Ruth DeWeese; brother, Larry (Donna) Absten; and sisters-in-law, Joan and Hope Absten; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grand children; and a host of loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his son Terry Absten, and brothers William and Cecil Absten. Lee proudly served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He loved league bowling with his family and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing with his son Michael and other family members and friends. Lee's passion was for Jesus Christ, his personal Savior. He faithfully served him throughout his journey here. Family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Tuesday , May 9, 2017 at O.R. Woodyard Company Chapel, 1346 South High Street where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday , May 10, 2017. Rev. Ralph Short officiating.
