Leonard Joseph Silliman, a wonderful friend, brother, son, uncle, and great uncle. Born December 10, 1947 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio to parents Louise Anne (Edwards) and Leonard Alton Silliman. He survived two strokes in recent years and had just defeated esophageal cancer. Died March 19 after a sudden hemorrhage to the brain. Lenny served as a Sergeant with the status of sharpshooter in the USMC Reserves – Company "M" 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines (Lima Company). He graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. A 1965 Graduate of Eastmoor High School, a quarterback for the reserve football team. He worked for several decades in the industrial fastener industry and traveled all over Ohio. He started in the warehouse at Capital Sales and worked his way up to inside purchasing manager. He was named Columbus Sales Manager at Buckeye Bolt and Nut Co. and was outside sales manager for Dotter Supply. Member of the NRA and the Ohio Gun Collectors Association. An avid reader, with an impressive knowledge of history, geography, economics, finance, and auto mechanics. He loved his family and his country. Friends and family relied on him for dependable, practical advice, expert construction help, and much more. Meticulous in thought and deed, he had the ability to talk to anybody about anything. He will be sorely missed by his surviving sisters, Anne E. Nowak Henderson, and Susan W. Silliman Colley; nieces and nephew, Jessica Nowak, Kathleen Nowak Casto, Joe Nowak, Elizabeth Colley and Bonnie Colley; great nieces and nephews, Taylor Nowak Bernthold, Abigail Bernthold, Shelby Casto, Logan Casto, Codi Nowak Kruse; and many cousins and friends. His family will receive friends on Monday, March 26, from 5-8pm at Cotner Funeral Home, 7369 East Main Street, Reynoldsburg, where his service will be held on Tuesday at 11am. Burial to follow at Violet Cemetery.
