Bradford Lester Carroll Bradford, age 81, of Galena, OH, died Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2014 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 22, 1932 in Baron, Oklahoma to the late Charles and Florence Bradford. He was a 1951 graduate of Westville High School in Westville, OK, student body president, was prominent in football, baseball and was voted best eye lashes. Lester was a living legend as a dozer operator for Shepherd Excavating with 25 years of loyal service retiring in 2005. "A heart is not measured by how much you love, but rather how much you are loved by others." To know Lester was to love him and he never knew a stranger. Lester had a great passion for his Oklahoma Sooners Football Team, his Herford cows, Arabian horses, Farmall tractor and his beloved 22 acre farm in Galena, OH. However; his two greatest loves were his beautiful and caring wife of 59 years Ruth, and his ever growing family. Lester is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth and they were married May 31, 1955 in Arkansas; children, Terry (Bob) Smith of Galena, Jeff (Connie) Bradford of Galena, Lisa (Travis) Thomas, of Marengo; step-son, Gary (Cathy) Hignite of Miami, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Bob (Ravena), Ben (Jenny), Nikki (Jeremy), Chris (Misty), Kila (Jimmy), Jessica (Ed), Jennifer (Adam), Taylor, Haley Jordan, Adam, Tiffany; great-grand-children, Danielle, Cameron, Jacob, Garrett, Cori, Tyler, Owen, Raine (Amber), Riane, Dylan, Alexis, Autumn, Lane; and expecting a great-great grandson later in August; brothers, Robert Leon (R.L.) Bradford, Orangevale, CA., Charles Bradford, Sunbury, OH, John Bradford, Southwest City, MO., Wayne Bradford, Westville, OK.; sisters, Kathleen Kinnan, Oakdale, NE., Pat Nelson, Westville, OK. Preceded in death by brothers Jess Bradford, A.G. Bradford, Chester Bradford, Donald (Gabby) Bradford, Mac Bradford, sisters Leora Imboden, Rowena Bradford, Lydia Mae Bradford, Jenny Coughran, Pauline Miller, Emma Lee Tumio. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the DeVORE-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury, where service will be held Friday 12Noon with Wayne and Monty Bradford officiating.
