Lewis "Shep" Shepherd, age 83, passed away Sunday July 9th, 2017 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, surrounded by loving family. Preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Gene Shepherd, and Robert Earl Shepherd. Lewis is survived by his loving Wife of 61 years, Patricia; Children, Terry (Beth) Shepherd, (Diane) Shepherd, Paul (Mollie) Shepherd, Mark Shepherd, Chris Shepherd, Jennifer (Jeff) Mallas; grand-children, Tiffany Camp, Samantha Shepherd, Jacob (Cameron) Shepherd Jordana Shepherd, Katie Shepherd, Christian and Joshua Mallas; great-grand-children, many nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, Brother Norris Shepherd, Sisters; Ada Joy, Betty Kellam; extended family and friends. Lewis proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for twenty years, as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He served during Korea and Vietnam Wars. He worked over30+Years in the trucking industry, As a Safety Supervisor. He was awarded Safety Supervisor of the Year for the State of Ohio in 1992, from the Ohio Trucking Association, he volunteered 10 years with the Blindspot Campaign at the Ohio State Fair. He then spent his time in the neighborhood assisting those neighbors in need with yardwork year round and other chores as they needed. The family would very much like to thank all of the staff at Forest Hills Care Center For the attention, kindness and care they gave to him and the family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to, Central Ohio, 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus OH 43215; www.alz.org. Friends may call Saturday July 15, 2017 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus OH 43232 from 1pm-3pm with a memorial service to directly follow at 3pm.
