Lillian Virginia (Dierker) Huber Obituary
Huber Lillian Virginia (Dierker) Huber was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 23, 1918 to Carl and Margaret Dierker and passed away on April 14, 2017. She married Lester W. Huber on August 14, 1939 and shared 76 years of marriage. She was thoroughly involved with family, church, world travel, and activities with many friends while raising three children; Donald, Carol and James. Lillian graduated from East High School and The Ohio State University with a BS in music education and a minor in history. Lillian loved her Buckeyes. Lillian was baptized in the Lutheran Church and was active in choirs both singing and directing at all levels, organizing and directing bell choirs, playing piano and organ for church services, and participating in women's organizations. She taught music and directed musicals and choirs in the Mifflin Township and Gahanna Jefferson School Districts. Lillian was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a friend to all she met. She is preceded in death by her husband Lester Huber, sister Evelyn (Dierker) Kranzley, brother Richard Dierker, and son-in-law Lowell Pederson. She is survived by her three children: Donald L. Huber (Shirley), Carol S. Pederson, and James A. Huber (Hope); along with grandchildren, Kathy Pederson, Kevin Huber, Alan Pederson, Karen (Huber) Morlan, Melinda (Huber) Israel, Julie (Huber) Rakocy, Michael Huber, Jodie (Huber) Jeffers, Mark Huber (Sara); and step-grandchildren, Kimberly Saverno and Patrick Patterson. The families of these grandchildren include 15 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. The Service of Celebration will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Road in Gahanna Ohio on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. with the family greeting friends and relatives at 10 a.m. The Women of Peace will be serve lunch to everyone following the service. Interment will be conducted at Greenlawn Cemetery following the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church in memory of Lillian Huber.
