This is a Very difficult Day! A Day when we all fell the loss of a very Dear Friend' Lionel "Bud" St.Amant. Bud man, as we all knew him. Left an indelible mark on all who ever met him and we all are so proud to have done so.

It is for us that we feel this sorrow, for it is us, his friends, accountancies, and family that now have this void in our lives because we have lost such a Great Man.

Bud had a wealth of racing knowledge available to all who ask but never imposed on anyone. I ask Bud one time, “Why people never took my advice when I gave it? He told me that to never give advice unless ask! The father like person that Bud man was to us all was genuine, Weather you saw him at the track, in a restaurant or at the mall, and Bud would always with sincere concern ask how you have been and how your family is!

It is said that a mans worth is measured by his legacy! Great Father, Loving Husband, Respected, Great person, Never forgotten, Sweet and nice man, Honest, Charm and Grace, Class act, Special Person, Heart of Gold, Admired. This is how people from the Saturday night short tracks in Ohio to the Sprint up Tracks describe Lionel "Bud" St.Amant.

For Bud Man, No more Pain and discomfort For Us…. Bud Man Thanks for the Memories! God's Speed My FRIEND.

We are not yet aware of how fortunate we have been to have known such a kind, thoughtful, helpful, fatherlike person that Budman was to us all. I can't seem to recall anytime in the 40 years I've been around him hearing anyone say they were mad at Bud St. Amant. That's probably a pretty hard thing to do. From casual conversation in the 80's, to the long rides (I drove, he snored)to ASA shows in the 90's,to many breakfasts at TJ's, to the many hours in the shop just catching up, Bud filled my ears with much wisdom. His normal high pitched "whats up buddy" was just what you expected from someone who was genuinely interested in seeing you regardless of where he was or who he was with. Wow, what a wealth of knowledge. I learned so much from him. NO ONE in all of racing got more enjoyment from offering advice to someone and then seeing them have success. I am elated that I was able to bring happiness and a big smile to him at Winchester this past Oct by making my racecar look like his favorite purple car with the big gold number 7. I'm sure gonna miss my buddy. I'll continue to proudly carry on the tradition of the purple and the 7. But just as we are sure what a good guy he was to us just imagine what a good man he must have been to those he loved. So its you Ruth, Gary and Traci, Ric and Michele and your Families that my prayers are for. Take comfort in the fact that Bud made us all very, very, proud to know him. My Family and my entire Racing Team is thinking about you.
