Lois Lavon Lawrence, age 95, of Columbus, died November 5, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. Lois was born on January 22, 1922 in Versailles, Ohio to the late Robert and Hazel (Emmons) Pittsenbarger of Greenville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband Major General Lee Lawrence and her son Robert Lawrence. She is survived by her son, James Lawrence of Worthington; granddaughter, Stephanie Lawrence; grandsons, Robert Lawrence, Nicholas Lawrence, and Brian Lawrence; five great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Rankin of Kettering. Lois was a graduate of the Greenville HS Class of '39, worked for over 30 years for Welcome Wagon International as a hostess for the Worthington Area. She also served as a presiding Judge for the Franklin County Board of Elections, former board member for the Franklin County Tuberculosis Society, volunteer for the Son of Heaven, and Proctor for bar exams and nurses exams. She was a member of many organizations including Worthington Welcome Wagon Club, Worthington Women's Club, Worthington Hills Women's Club, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Beta Theta Pi Mother's Club, Reserve Officer's Association Ladies, and the Military Officer's Association of America. Friends may call on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 4-7 pm at the RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 am. She will be buried next to her husband in the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Danbury Senior Living in Lois' memory.
