Mallory Jean Horne-Risenburg Obituary
Horne-Risenburg Mallory Jean Horne-Risenburg, age 23, passed away April 7, 2017. Mallory was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 15, 1993 to parents Anne Marie and Lawrence Robert. Mallory spent much of her early life in Toledo, Ohio; making friends and stealing hearts, loudly singing Matchbox Twenty's "Push" at the top of her lungs, playing softball, collecting figurines of wolves and snow globes, swimming in her uncle's pool, watching Studio Ghibli films with her mother and brother, being a friend to all animals, spending summers at her aunt's cottage in upstate Michigan, playing her acoustic and bass guitars, and forging a lasting passion for music that would follow her for the rest of her life. She dealt with trauma, loss, and victimization. Mallory was a rape survivor and struggled with the impact it had on her life until she died. While Mallory spent much of her life in the mental health system, she advocated strongly for personal autonomy and self-advocacy. Mallory was not a victim and not a sum of the things that happened to her- she simply was herself. Mallory was warm and loving, and brought comfort and laughter to those she held close. Mallory leaves behind loving parents, a stepfather, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and friends, a brother; each of whom she touched to their core. She will be sorely missed. Rest in power. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to: To Write Love On Her Arms, www.twloha.com, a cause devoted to treatment and to fight the stigma of depression as mental illness and those impacted by it. At the request of the family, there will be no gathering. Arrangements by SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL. Please visit our online guestbook at www.schoedinger.com to leave your condolences.
