FLEMING (COOK) Margaret "Peg" Cook Fleming passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Peg was born on August 30, 1926 in Scarsdale, NY to Blanche Olds Bernheisel and George Hench Bernheisel and was predeceased by her sisters Joanne Bloom and Bunny Conn. She is survived by her children, Candice Cook of San Diego, Ca., David (Debbie) Cook of New Haven, Ct., Nancy (Barry) Backner of Columbus, Oh., and Robert (Susan) Cook of Philadelphia, Pa.. along with her grandchildren, Brooke Backner, Whitney (Chris) Backner White, Claire Cook, Charles Cook, John Cook, Olivia Cook and Sara Cook. Preceded in death by husbands David S. Cook and Leslie W. Fleming. She is also survived by her step children, Penney Fleming, Mark (Madeline) Fleming, Paige (Ted) Fleming Rodriquez and Tracy (David) Fleming Heaberlin; and step grandchildren, Megan Matyjasik, Eleanor Fleming, and Max and Spenser Heaberlin. Peg received her education at Bradford Junior College and Ohio State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in 1947. She was active in the Columbus Museum of Art, the Columbus Symphony, and the Pi Beta Phi sorority and was a member of the Scioto Country Club and the Mullett Lake (Michigan) Country Club. Spending time with her family and friends brought joy and love to her life and she never missed an opportunity to play bridge with her friends or cards, especially 11, with her grandchildren and step grandchildren. Peg's infectious sparkle and laugh and her devotion to those she loved will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kobacker House or the . A service to celebrate her life will be held at the First Community Church in Columbus on Friday, November 23rd at 1:30 p.m. and the family will receive friends afterwards.
