Obituary Condolences

Roberts Marguerite "Maggie" F. Roberts, 82, lived a life full of love and friendship and then she went to be with her Lord. On Saturday, May 13, 2017 she passed away in the caring and loving community at the Mother Angeline McCrory Manor in Columbus, Ohio with family by her side. Born June 22, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Leslie and Helen Fortman, she was the second of their six children. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Charles and Robert. She is survived by brothers, Dick, Jack and Jim Fortman. Maggie graduated from Osseo High School and earned an associate degree in secretarial science at Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa. She retired from Huntington Bank in 2007. She lived her life in pursuit of great things. Great friends, great food, great beauty in her gardens and a great passion for volunteering. Maggie was active in the Community of Christ church and participated the Red Hat Ladies, Beginning Experience and her Emmaus Share Group. She spent her retirement volunteering at the Palace and Ohio Theaters and tutoring children. Left to honor and remember Maggie are her four children, Mardi (Don) Cole, Carrie (Jeff) Farquhar, Patti (Bob) Shamansky and Don Ferguson II; seven grandchildren, Andy (Kelsey) Cole, Casey (Scott) Moberly, Megan (Joao Paulo) Farquhar, Ashley (Phil) Olivarez, Mallory (Cody) Yeagley, Olivia Mehrle and Charlie Ferguson; and six great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many incredible, loving and dedicated friends, for whom she cared deeply and her friends on 3 East and the dedicated staff who cared for her and loved her. Visitation will be at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio on Friday, May 19, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, 9-10 a.m., followed by a funeral service, Pastor Brian Roberts officiating.
