Fishburn Marilyn "Mickey" Irene Fishburn, 80, of Fostoria, OH, died Wednesday evening at her home. She was born on September 21, 1932 in Steubenville, OH to J. Paul and Frances (Johnston) Cotner. She married William E. Fishburn on February 15, 1958 in Columbus, OH. Surviving is her husband, William E. Fishburn of Fostoria; daughter, Kendra K. Fishburn of Fostoria; and her son, Bruce J. Fishburn of Memphis, Tennessee; nephews, Brad and Barth Cotner of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. She is preceded by her parents, two stillborn sons, brothers William, Franklin, Dennis and Paul Cotner. Mickey was a former school teacher in Whitehall, OH and Tainan, Taiwan DOD Schools. Employed as a Secretary of the Wilson Avenue Church of the Nazarene, Columbus from 1973 to 1980. She retired in 1995 as a Secretary of the Fostoria First Church of the Nazarene, where she had been for 15 years. She was also the Organist for the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home for more than 20 years. After retirement she was a piano teacher at Alts Music Center in Fostoria and pianist for the Fostoria Rotary Club. She was a 1950 Graduate of Upper Arlington High School and a 1954 Graduate of Olivet Nazarene University with a BS in Music Education. She had completed several hours of Post Graduate work at The Ohio State University and Bowling Green State University. A member of Trinity United Brethren Church. Mickey was the faithful wife, mother, homemaker and companion for her husband for over 55 years of marriage and while he served 21 years of active military service. She was a life-long servant of God and passed her love of music, singing, and the piano to hundreds of children. She was loved by her family, her adopted grandchildren Cory, Courtney, and Caitlin Stahl, and granddog "Luke". Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the HARROLD-FLORIANA FUNERAL HOME, Fostoria, Ohio with the Pastor Samuel Suman, officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery Fostoria, Ohio. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to service Saturday, both at the funeral home.
