Atkins (Kenefick) Mary A. (Kenefick) Atkins, age 95, Sunday, September 14, 2014. Born May 8, 1919, in Steubenville, OH, daughter of the late John and Anne Quigg Kenefick (an Irish immigrant). Mary was a beloved daughter, wife, sister and mother. Preceded in death by her husband Roy. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bill Case of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Margaret. During World War II, Mary assisted the war effort by working in a Steubenville steel mill - a real life "Rosie the Riveter!" She worked in the hotel service industry for 54 years in Steubenville and later in Columbus. She took pride in helping her extended family in countless ways throughout her life. Her nieces, Linda and Phyllis were like daughters to her. The family wants to thank the wonderful caregivers at Scioto Community and Acclaim Hospice. A private family service and entombment was held at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME.
