BLAKE Mary E. Blake, age 86, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on December 8, 2012. Mary was born October 22, 1926 in Circleville, Ohio to the late John and Ella (Heise) James; also preceded in death by her husband Dewitt William Blake. She was a 1945 graduate of OSSO Home in Xenia, Ohio where she spent her formative years; served as president of the Association of Ex-Pupils (of OSSO Home) in 1988 and 1989 and was inducted into the AXP Hall of Fame in 1988. Mary retired from the U.S. Federal Court-Probation and Parole Dept. having worked as a clerk stenographer for many years. She was a former member of Christ Church in Glendale, Ohio where she served on the Altar Guild and sang in the church choir. She was a strong supporter of the Humane Society of the United States and the Paralyzed Veterans Assn. Mary is survived by her children, Patricia A. (Roy) Dawson and Mark W. (Sharon) Blake, Juanita Powell; special neighbors and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday with visitation from 4-6 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229. Graveside Service 2 p.m. Thursday at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Cincinnati, OH 25245. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS-2100 L. Street NW, Washington, DC 20037).
