Mary L. Brenneman, age 78, of West Jefferson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 19, 2017. She was a dedicated member of the Veritas West Church, where she served as an Usher and greeter; she attended Marysville High School and was Salutatorian of the Class of 1957. She then attended Mt. Carmel School of Nursing and was Valedictorian of her 1960 class. Upon graduation she worked at Children's Hospital and Riverside Hospital. Mary and her husband John enjoyed traveling and visited many countries in Europe as well as trips to Egypt and China. Mary was a wonderful lady who loved her husband and children, and absolutely adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them participate in sports activities and was an ardent supporter. Her happiest moments have been time spent with her family during family trips, cruises and holiday get together. Mary was blessed with a kind and generous heart and gave to many deserving charities. Preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Kathryn Ross, father-in-law and mother-in-law Roland and Frieda Brenneman, brother-in-law Thomas Ball and aunt Louise Zitzman. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, John; children, Johna (Thomas) Thompson and Craig (Lori) Brenneman; grandchildren, Wesley ( Amber) Thompson, Trent Thompson, Lucas Thompson, Logan Thompson, Hannah Brenneman, and John Ross Brenneman; great grandchild, Stella Thompson; sister, Kathy Ball; and brother, Herbert (Sue) Ross; nephew, Benjamin; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Donald) Weber; nieces, Susan, Paula, Beth Ann; brother-in-law, Robert (Barbara) Brenneman; niece, Deanna; and nephew, Robbie. Friends may visit Friday, December 22, 2017 from 6-8 PM at The Grove City Church of the Nazarene, 4770 Hoover Road and on Saturday from 10 AM until time of celebration of life at 11 AM. Private committal service will be held at Sunset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Refuge, P.O. Box 163173, Columbus, OH 43216 or The West Jefferson Athletic Boosters C/O West Jefferson High School, 1 Roughrider Drive, West Jefferson, OH 43162 in her memory. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurse's doctor's and staff of the 15th and 18th floor at The James Cancer Hospital.
