Mary Deen Lunsford, born in Sylvester, GA on May 22, 1943 to Bost "Baylock" and Gussie Mae Thomas Lunsford, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 14, 2018. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, god mother, friend, and angel to many. Mary Deen loved life, fishing, fashion, gardening, crafts, traveling, mentoring, and passionately helping those in need. A sponsor in the 12 steps fellowship program, she was always supporting and encouraging others. A friend to everyone she met, she counseled, inspired, and challenged many to be the best they could possibly be. Some of her common phases were, "This too shall pass", "Take it to God", "I did it with love", and "The best is yet to come". A member of New Generation Church, Mary Deen was immersed in her love for God, and Jesus Christ. Mary Deen religiously read and shared scriptures, and devotional with family, friends, and strangers on a daily basis. Mary Deen retired from Nationwide Insurance. Preceded in death by loving parents Bost "Baylock" and Gussie Mae Thomas Lunsford, sisters Mary Helen Lunsford, JoWanna Lunsford, and Shirley "Sally" Jones, brothers Calvin Lunsford Sr. and Willie "Nick" Lunsford. She leaves to cherish her memories daughter, Quinn (Todd) Wilson; granddaughter, Brittini Robinson; grandson, Jacob G. Wilson of Columbus, OH.; brothers, Olusegun "Billy" (Omisade "Teresa") Lunsford, Lithonia, GA., Danya Lunsford, Atl. GA., Robert Lunsford, and Dale Lunsford of Columbus, OH.; sister-in-law, Davina Lunsford, Lithonia, GA.; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. Celebration of Life Service, 12 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at New Generation Church, 1173 Essex Ave. Pastor Maurice Jackson, officiating.
