Althaus Maxine L. Althaus, 77 of Ashville, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Crestview Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster. She was born Nov. 1, 1935 in Circleville to the late Walden and Dorothy (Smith) Sherman. She had worked at Walnut School for 10 years as a cook and was a homemaker. Preceded in death by her husband Ronald, daughters Debbie Abner and Rhonda (Scott) Kuhlwein, brothers Lee, Charles, Roy, George and Gene Sherman, sisters Barbara Neff, Beulah Jones, and Lillian Sherman. Survived by sons, Terry (Ternace) Althaus of Ashville and Rick (Chris) Althaus of Canal Winchester; daughter, Linda (Doyle) Damron of Ashville; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great- grandchildren; brother, Bill Sherman of Ashville; sisters, Martha Martin and Sylvia Crookham of Ashville, Beverly (Roger) Caplinger of Delaware, OH, and Millie (Charles) Kerns of Amanda; sisters-in-law, Lynn Sherman, Lois Sherman, Olga Sherman, and Patsy Sherman Edwards; brother-in-law, Herb Neff; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. on Thurs. Aug. 1, 2012 at the OLIVER-CHEEK FUNERAL HOME, 420 W. Main St. Ashville, OH with Scott Cline officiating. Interment will follow in Reber Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wed. July 31, 2013. The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd. Columbus 43215 or the , 5555 Frantz Rd. Dublin 43017.
