Melba Steele Obituary

STEELE Melba L. Steele passed away January 27, 2011. Born April 15, 1928 in Upshur County, WV to Orville and Lela M. Young (Lee). Survived by husband of 56 years, Julian T. Steele Jr; sons, Richard A. (Jennifer) Steele of Millersport, OH, and William F. Steele of Omaha, NE; daughters, Melba Jean (John) Aidukas of Omaha, NE and Bonnie Wharton; grandchildren, April, Steven, and Johnny; great grandchildren, McKenzie, Jerome, Colby, and Bailey; siblings, Thomas and Hilton Young, Treva Lewis, and Mary Lou Thompson; many nieces; nephews and other family members. Preceded in death by stepmother Virginia Baker (Young) of Baden, PA. Melba worked primarily in the medical profession. She was an EKG Technician at Nebraska Methodist Hospital and a Surgical Scrub Technician at Clarkson Hospital both in Omaha, NE. She worked as a volunteer in the gift shop at the Franklin Park Conservatory. Friends may call at the O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Sunday, 2-5 p.m. where funeral service will be held, Monday, 1 p.m. Dr. William L. Snider officiating. Interment Obetz Cemetery.
