Wilson Michael Phillip Wilson, 40, passed away on May 11, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on February 14, 1977 in Elida, Ohio to Phillip and Susan (Foust) Wilson. Mike grew up in Elida, Ohio. He graduated from Elida High School in Elida, Ohio in 1996. After high school, he attended Bowling Green State University with many of his dearest friends where he received a degree in Education. Mike met the love of his life, Alisha Colyer, in 2002 while both were employed by Whitehall City Schools following their passions of changing students' lives and making the Whitehall community a better place. They were happily married in 2006 and eagerly welcomed their son, Seth, in 2007 followed by their daughter, Bailey, in 2010 who completed their loving family. An avid lover of all sports, including his favorite University of Michigan Wolverines, Mike never missed an opportunity to partake or participate in athletics. Combining his love of athletics and his passion for helping children, Mike left a lasting impression on countless youth through coaching football and baseball. Mike was preceded in death by twin sisters Debra and Tammy Wilson, his maternal grandmother, and his paternal grandparents. Mike is survived by his devoted spouse, Alisha; his children, Seth and Bailey; his parents, Phil and Sue; and his sister, Amy; and his grandfather, Norman J. Foust. Additionally, Mike leaves behind an extensive group of people who cared deeply for him, including his in-laws, Wayne and Diana Colyer; his brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Karen Colyer; countless dear friends and especially his much-loved Quarter, Boy Posse. A visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. followed by a memorial service on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER FUNERAL HOME, 6699 North High Street Worthington, Ohio 43085.
