Nancy Moss Obituary

MOSS Nancy Moss, 61, resident of the Vail Colorado Valley, passed away February 18, surrounded by her devoted family. Nancy never lost her passion for life through her 10 year battle with cancer. Her eternal optimism, sense of fun and ease in connecting with people charmed everyone she met. Nancy grew up in Wilmette, Illinois and moved to Ohio to attend Ohio University where she met her beloved husband of 38 years, Mike Moss. They lived in the Columbus, Ohio area while they raised their three special children, Matthew, Peter and Lindsey. Nancy's success in the family real estate business led her into the title insurance business and then into mortgage lending. After moving to the Vail area, Nancy enjoyed helping people plan their vacations to Vail and then pursued her dream of owning and operating an Italian restaurant in Eagle, Colorado. Nancy is survived, loved and missed by husband and children, Mike, Matthew, Peter and Lindsey Moss, all of Colorado; Nancy's mother, Patricia Nicholis; father, Don Nicholis; sister, Dana Thachuk; and brother, Don Nicholis of the Chicago area; and sister, Lita Curtis of Brentwood, California. There will be a memorial service for Nancy at the Brush Creek Pavilion in Eagle, Colorado on April 17, 2010. Those wishing to remember Nancy with a donation are directed to the Shaw Regional Cancer Center, P. O. Box 2559, Edwards, Colorado 81632.

So sad to learn of Nancy´s passing. She and her husband were the realtors who sold my parents their home in Upper Arlington, Ohio in 1973. I remember them both as such nice people. Mike please accept my deepest condolences.

So sad to hear this. She and her husband Mike were the realtors who found and sold a house in Upper Arlington, Ohio way back in the early 70s.

To the Moss Family- Randy and I send to you our regret for the struggle which Nancy endured and our humility for the warrior she was. Her obituary described beautifully her fortitude, good humor, and constant sense of seeking joy. She was always honest; as we met her post-cancer, and never did I see her give up. I am glad she was able to move to the state she loved. The cancer she had was one of the toughest but Nancy did not hide. Bless her. We are better people for having known her.
