Nancy H. Palmer, 87, of Lancaster, Ohio, has gone home to her Savior, Jesus Christ surrounded by her family and special care giver, Connie Estep on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Reflections Retirement Community in Lancaster. She was born in Somerset, on February 13, 1930 to the late Alphonsus and Mary (Gordon) Schmeltzer. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and was retired from Fairfield Medical Center. She is survived by her children, Lori (Mark) Barbee of Lancaster, Tom (Suzie) Palmer of Circleville, John (Darlene Hambel) Palmer of Westerville, Tim (Pam) Palmer of Bellefontaine, Jim (William Borden) Palmer of Columbus, and Mary (Jim) Winstead of Lancaster; nine grandchildren, Amy (Ed) Sines, Andy (Brandy) Palmer, Ashley (Brett) Hespell, Aaron (Carrie) Palmer, Abbey Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Stacey (Brian) Wilson, Adam (Katie) Palmer, and Neil Winstead; 21 great grandchildren; brother, Edmund Schmeltzer; sisters, Sister Mary Lois, O.P., Eloise Krumlauf, and Frances (Jim) Orr; sisters-in-law, Rita Schmeltzer and Juanita Schmeltzer; brothers-in-law, Ted Takacs and Wib Cline; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her sisters Juanita Cline, Rita Keller, Betty Lou Heyman, Audrey Hicks, and Madeline Takacs, brothers Billy Schmeltzer and Mike Schmeltzer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2017 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 132 S. High St., Lancaster. Fr. Craig Eilerman, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somerset. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Sheridan Funeral Home, 222 S. Columbus St., Lancaster where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
