Lyndon Nancy W. Lyndon, age 79, of Plain City, Ohio died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on the evening of Thursday, October 10, 2013. Nancy was born March 11, 1934 in Fredericksburg, Virginia and was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Paige Lyndon. She attended Mars Hill College near Asheville, NC and received a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 1955 from Medical College of Virginia. In 1984, she received a Master's Degree in Education, with a focus in Counseling from the University of Dayton. For 50 years, she worked as a critical care nurse and educator in hospitals from Ohio to California. For half of those years, she taught at Mount Carmel College of Nursing before retiring in 2008. During her retirement until earlier this year, Nancy remained an active nurse in her community through the Union County Parish Nurses Organization. She also helped with health checks in the Marysville and Plain City, Ohio communities. She was an active member of Marysville First United Methodist Church where she helped initiate the church's parish nurse program. She also participated with the Wednesday Bible class and Serendipity Sunday School class as a rotating teacher. She was a member of Chapter FD of the P.E.O. Sisterhood and was a member and ten-year board member of the Union County YMCA. She enjoyed flea markets, bargain shopping, antiquing and animals. Above all, Nancy will be well remembered for her love of family and friends and her compassion and concern for others. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Charles H. Lyndon, whom she married February 25, 1956 in Fredericksburg, VA; her two daughters, Leslee (Daniel) Wray of Mt. Gilead, NC and Heather Lyndon of Greer, SC; two granddaughters, Kali and Amber Wray; three grandsons, Nathan, Aaron and Joshua Wray; her sister, Paige W. Bartlett of Dayton, OH; her brother-in-law, Jack Lyndon of Thomasville, NC; five nieces, one nephew; several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins, including Richard Wright of Richmond, VA and Barbara W. Hamner of Fredericksburg, VA. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Marysville First United Methodist Church. Rev. Aaron Brown and Rev. Carrie Given will officiate. The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at UNDERWOOD FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Mission Society, P.O.
