Caraccilo Nicholas J. Caraccilo, 83, passed away March 6, 2013. In loving memory of Nicholas J. Caraccilo, a caring husband, great dad, and a friend to all. He was born April 13, 1929, in Inwood, Long Island. During his youth Nick excelled in boxing and became a Golden Glove champion with the Police Athletic League. Upon turning eighteen, Nicholas entered the United States Air Force, serving 20 distinguished years, and receiving the Air Force Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) for meritorious service. After retiring from the military, Nick began a second career with the State of Ohio, retiring from the Department of Commerce Division of Securities. He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two sons, Nick and Joe; daughter-in-law, Karen; and two grandchildren, Alexis and Olivia. He will be missed deeply. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Church of the Redeemer United Methodist, 235 McNaughten Rd., Columbus, where a memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Messages may be sent to his family by visiting www.cotnerfuneralhome.com.
