McDowell Patricia Ann (Phillips) McDowell, 87, of Columbus, died at home Monday, September 30, 2013. She was born November 13, 1925 in Canton, OH to Edgar R. and Nina Grace (Neidlinger) Phillips. Growing up in Pittsburgh she enjoyed cheerleading and dancing before attending Grove City College. While there she became a WW/1 war bride with Jack, the Marine she met, who was on leave before heading out to the Pacific. After the war she focused her life, love and attention on Jack, their three daughters and later on the many grand and great grandchildren that came into her life. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack and sister Audrey Brown. She is survived by her brother, Edgar R. Phillips, Jr.; and children, Jodie Ann (McDowell) Fenton, Cathy Jeanne (McDowell) Smith and Susan Jane (McDowell) Tope (Ron); grandchildren, Tracie Michele Bayer (Jason), Melissa Ann (Fenton) Brooks (Will), Lindsey Marie Fenton, Travis James Fenton, Mindy Faye (Tope) Charles (Earl), and Justin Wayne Tope; and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, October 8 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Road in Columbus. Online condolences may be made to www.schoedinger.com.
