Paul A. Christin Sr. Obituary
Christin Paul A. Christin, Sr., a 42 year resident of Naperville, IL., passed away peacefully on March 26, 2017 at the Springs of Monarch in Naperville, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 26, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio, the youngest of the eight children born to Edith (nee Hickey) and R. Ernest Christin. Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Frances (nee Schroeder) Christin; his loving children, Paul (Julie) Christin of Lemont, IL, Daniel (Marny) Christin of Chicago, IL, Michael (Jennifer) Christin of South Elgin, IL, Marianne (Ron) Rocchi of Naperville, IL and Timothy (Lauren) Christin of Boulder, CO; his 14 cherished grandchildren, Genevieve Christin, Grace, Sam, Ruby and Greta Christin, Marissa, R.J., Clarice, Will and Joe Rocchi, Peter, Jacqueline, Emily and James Christin; as well as his brother-in-law, Edward (Pat) Schroeder of Dublin, Ohio; and 35 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his seven siblings and their spouses Robert, John, Francis, Margaret Rieser, Milton, Edward and Elizabeth Ann Christin and sisters-in-law Kathleen Wagner and Barbara Schroeder. Paul was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Mt. St. Mary's College, Cincinnati, OH and graduated from St. Charles College in Columbus, OH. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He retired as a Sales Executive with Friedrich Grohe in 1996. Paul was a member of Saints Peter and Paul school board, the Benet Academy Men's Club, a founding parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Parish and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Naperville Council #1369. Volunteering gave Paul much joy and he liked to say he volunteered because the pay was so good. He gave selflessly of his time with "Hearts Alive" at Edward Hospital since 1987 and was a St. Margaret Mary Pastoral Care Minister for 40 years visiting the homebound and hospital patients. Paul was a proud lifelong democrat. He loved to laugh and truly enjoyed life. He treasured his wife, family and his faith. He adored his 14 grandchildren and they adored him. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Paul's life, please make memorial contributions to the Carmelite Sisters of Mother Angeline McCrory Manor, 5199 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43213. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 29, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the FRIEDRICH-JONES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 30, 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1450 Green Trails Dr., Naperville.
