Paul Thompson Obituary

THOMPSON Paul Douglas "Doug" Thompson, 59, recently of Pataskala, Ohio, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in his home at Leesburg, Florida. He was born December 8, 1951 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Kathleen Fugitt and Paul Herman Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his step-father Donald Fugitt and an infant brother Donald. Doug was a Civil Engineer employed by the State of Ohio prior to his retirement. He spent many years as a youth leader for Groveport Chapter, Order of DeMolay and was a Past Worshipful Master of Sinking Springs Lodge #365. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda Jane Thompson, whom he married December 28, 1974 in Portsmouth, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Katherine Thompson; and four grandchildren, James, Gwendolyn, John, and Henry Thompson, all of Pickerington, Ohio. His greatest joy was found in spending time with his family and friends. Golfing was a close second. No formal service is planned at this time. The family will hold a private celebration of life in early June. His ashes will later be spread across special places from throughout his life.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Doug. I had the privilege of working with Doug @ BUSTR for many years. And from the many stories that he shared with me, I can assure you that all of you were the most precious gems in his life. My prayers are with you and the rest of your family.
