FRESHOUR Paul W. Freshour, age 88, Saturday, March 6, 2010, Zusman House. Retired engineer from Ohio Bell. During his first 32 years of service Ohio Bell was known as Western Electric. Veteran World War II U.S. Army serving in N. Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. Served 3 years in the Air National Guard. Member Parkview Presbyterian Church and Telephone Pioneers. Former member Whitehall United Methodist Church. In 1986, Paul and his wife Esther, spent 3 months in Sierra Leone, W. Africa with the Lutheran Bible Translators. He was influential in the development of Camp Otterbein near Logan, Ohio. Survived by loving wife, Esther Freshour (Brandle); daughter, Lynette Adele Vargyas of Redlands, CA; sons, Paul David (Carol) Freshour of Lancaster, OH and Rev. Peter James (Mary Kay) Freshour of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua (Hollie), Kay (Lane) Halterman, Wesley (Kelly), Kelly (Todd) Welch, Gary (Danielle), Bradley and Adam Vargyas; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Ann (Thomas) Kirsop of Bay Village, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Friends may call Wednesday, March 10, 2010 11 a.m.-12Noon, EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. Graveside service and interment immediately following at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial service Saturday, March 20, 2010, 2 p.m., Parkview Presbyterian Church, 6969 E. Livingston Ave., where friends may call 1 hour prior to service. Rev. Robert Gray officiating.
