Philipp Lee Roar Sr. Obituary
Roar Philipp Lee Roar Sr., was born on October 7, 1943 to Acy and Gertrude Roar in Grahn, Kentucky and he passed away into the hands of the Lord Jesus on April 14, 2017 in Houston, Texas at the age of 73. Philipp is preceded in death by his parents, wives Connie and Darlene Roar, sister Oneida Baker, and daughter Barbie Spencer. Left to cherish his memories are eight children, Lisa Kennedy, Joe Scowden, Lori Thurman, Larry Scowden, Philipp Roar Jr., Leeanna Hyland, Shellie Roar, Brett Roar; 24 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and his sister, Yvonne Landrum. Philipp was a United States Navy Veteran, a central Ohio Shell Oil, and Marathon Oil business owner and a member of the local central Ohio drag racing community where he was best known as the owner and driver of the Roar-n-Hemi. A memorial service is scheduled for April 29, 2017 at the Heritage Nazarene Church located at 2264 Walnut Creek Pike, Circleville, Ohio 43113 from 7-8 p.m. for those who wish to pay their respects and share memories. In lieu of flowers or plants, the family request donations of any amount to be made with Nationwide Children's Hospital, Cure Duchenne, or the Lymphoma Association charities in Philipp's name, or cards that can be dropped off at the memorial service.
