Rachel E. Dennison, 97, died Monday, December 18, 2017 at Friendship Village of Dublin. Daughter of Harry A. and A. Ruth Justice Dennison, she was born in their prairie home near Nanton, Alberta, Canada. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers Robert A. and Roger M. Dennison. Graduate of Columbus Central High School, and with B.S. and M.A. degrees in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University. A teacher in Canton, Columbus and Grandview Heights, a school principal in Yellow Springs and Indian Hill, OH, and an education consultant in the Ohio Department of Education in the areas of instructional materials and migrant education. Elected to membership in Delta Kappa Gamma and Pi Lambda Theta, education honoraries. As a member of the Kappa Phi Club, she served as an officer at the local, regional and national levels. Active in Franklin County and Madison County Genealogical Societies. Co-authored with T. Randle Dennison two books about their Scots Irish Dennison ancestry. Survived by nieces, Sharon Campbell, Jo Ellen Knowlton, Kathleen (Michael) Morrow, Minda (Michael) Taylor and Kelly (Jeffrey) Steece; many grand nieces and nephews. Known as "Aunt Rae" to their families and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2017 in the North Convocation Room at Friendship Village of Dublin, 6000 Riverside Drive, Dublin, Ohio 43017. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the Glen Helen Outdoor Education Center, 1075 State Route 343, Yellow Springs, Ohio 45387.
