CALLION Raleigh S. Callion Jr. MD, age 57, of Gahanna, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He was born to Raleigh and Millicent Callion Sr. on December 9, 1955. Raleigh had a welcoming playful spirit. A beloved husband and doting father, his warm smile exuded the love he had for his family and friends. He adored his grandsons and enjoyed taking them to see "Big Boys take off" at the airport. Possessing a Shepherd's heart, he was generous, charitable, and compassionate towards his friends and elderly clients. Raleigh enjoyed fishing. His passion was cooking for his family and sharing music interests. He married his wife, Suzanne in Glenna and Oscar Watson's home. He graduated from Morehouse College, where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. He went on to graduate from The Ohio State University Medical School and was an avid Buckeye fan. Raleigh loved and followed God and attended New Life Church. He was preceded in death by his father Raleigh Shipp Callion, Sr. DDS, grandmother Edna Butler, brother-in-law Curtis E. Holley. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Suzanne; beautiful children, Sarah, Andrew, Isaac and Moriah; grandchildren, Seth Callion Cohen and Preston Hopper; mother, Millicent Callion; siblings, Madelyne Callion and John Callion; aunt and uncle, Adam and Lois McDaniel; nieces, Ariel and Domonique Callion; father and mother-in-law, Calvin D. and Patricia A. Holley; sister and brothers-in-law, Thomas (Stefani) Holley, Tamra (Jeff) Wall, Jon (Lisa) Holley, and Alex J. Holley; cousins, extended family, and friends. Friends may call from 2 -5 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL1051 E. Johnstown RD. (at Beecher RD) Gahanna. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012 at New Life Church, 3690 Stygler Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230. Pastor Steve Benninger officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The New Life Church or to Ohio University John Templeton Fund in memory of Raleigh Callion.
