Whittington Raymond R. Whittington, 76, of Stoutsville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Putnam County, West Virginia. Raymond worked for G.M. in Cleveland and Hamilton, as well as Detroit, MI, and retired from Fisher Guide (GM) Columbus. He served his country for three years in the United States Navy. Raymond enjoyed antiquing, woodworking, landscaping, and his tractors. He was a member of the Grove City Baptist Church and Logan Elm Baptist Church, Circleville. He is preceded in death by his parents Ramie and Elbin Whittington, and his brother Vernon. Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Barbara; three daughters, Lisa (Jon) Eltzroth of Hillsboro, Susan (Gary) Fearnow of Stoutsville, and Jill (Jason) Provens of Massachusetts. The light of his life were his eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jillian, Samantha, Steven, Chase, Tanner, Mackenzie, and Austin; sister, Betty (Paul) Bowers of Buffalo, WV; and many nephews and nieces. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at RAYNES FUNERAL HOME, 2117 Buffalo Road, Buffalo, WV with Pastor Dave Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Memorial Park, Buffalo with military graveside honors by American Legion James E. Marshall Post 187 Winfield. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Mt. Carmel West Hospital, Palliative Care Center, 793 W. State St., Columbus, OH 43222. Special thanks goes to Raymond's doctors and nurses at Mt. Carmel West for their exceptional care.
