Richard Earl Wern Obituary
Wern Richard Earl Wern, 95, of Columbus, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 6:02 p.m. He left in time to keep a 7 p.m. Heavenly dinner reservation at the Kahiki with his loving wife Ann who passed away in 2010. Richard was born December 23, 1918 in Columbus to the late Earl and Gertrude (Clepien) Wern. He was a 1936 graduate of South High School and retired from John Deere after 41 years. He was a member of St. Pius, a lifetime member of St. Xavier Benefit Society and the 1918 Club. He was a piano accompanist for St. Xavier's Men's Choir, Reynoldsburg Golden Clefs and the Kensingtones. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, Friday afternoon movie matinees, dancing and music, which was his life. He is preceded in death by his wife Ann. He is survived by daughters, Kathy (Pete) Zeller, Barbara (Tom) Jones, and Linda (Steve) Landry; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2014. Entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
