Sherwood Richard "Dick" L. Sherwood, age 70, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2014. Dick was born on June 8, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from South High School and received a Master of Arts Degree in Education from The Ohio State University. He retired after 32 years of service from Columbus Public Schools where he taught Industrial Arts (woodshop) at Indianola Jr. High and Eastmoor High School. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Robert C. Sherwood and Geraldine Sherwood (Compton), and his brother Robert "Bobby" Sherwood. He is survived by his two sons, Steven (Tricia) and Douglas (Julie); three grandchildren, Colin, Griffin, and Delaney; and his sister, Luann (Garry). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. at Lifepoint Church, 7719 Graphics Way, B, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035 (Richards favorite pizza, Massey's, will be provided). Please do not send flowers, as they cannot be accepted at the church. Instead, please make a donation to the Woodworkers of Central Ohio (a non-profit organization established to provide education and foster craftsmanship in the art of woodworking, and to provide service to the community using woodworking skills). Donations may be made payable to Michael Ware, Treasurer, and sent to Woodworkers of Central Ohio, 5693 Piedmont Court, Westerville, Ohio 43082, in memory of Richard L. Sherwood.
